Contouring is the best way to add dimension to the the structure of your face. It will help define your features, and sculpt your cheekbones. You can then use the highlighter to bring the light back into the center of your face, and accentuate the areas you have contoured. Finish off the look with some blush, and you’ll be ready hit the town in no time.
Cream contours have more of a natural finish. It's great for everyday natural look and is much easier to work with compared to powders. If you have oily skin you can run the risk of looking even more oilier throughout the day. Using too much cream can look caked and unnatural. I only recommend it to clients who have normal to combination skin.
Powder contours can give you a more defined look and a completely matte finish. I personally like to use a power because of it's staying power and I love the finish. Please keep in mind when working with a powder you must use very little. You could end up with very harsh lines and you could look very over done.
